Flamboyant and controversial singer Penny Penny chats to us about his Clash of the Choirs SA gig, family and reportedly being Cassper Nyovest’s father.

A true classic never goes out of style. And that’s certainly true about legendary disco king Penny Penny.

The Shangaan singer just made his first appearance on Mzansi Magic’s Clash of the Choirs SA as one of the choirmasters for the new season. Of the seven choirmasters on the show, the Limpopo-born singer is the only judge to work with a choir from his province.

In no time at all, Penny Penny (real name Eric Nkovani) was trending on Twitter for the comments and facial expressions he made on the show, as hopefuls sang their lungs out to impress him.

And it seems he can’t stay away from grabbing headlines these days; from his recent threats to harm fellow musicians at the funeral of singer Sam Sikiza Chauke.

With much anticipation we head from the City of Gold to Giyani in Limpopo to catch up with the colourful king of Xitsonga music.
