In the ‘90s, when he wrote the seminal tune Vukani Bantwana, Bheki Mseleku could easily have retired – as far as many fans were concerned, after writing such an awesome song his job was done. So why didn’t the track in question make it onto this compilation? Its absence is a real bummer! The tunes that do make it are witty arrangements from arguably SA’s best jazz pianist. Highlights include Nants’ Inkululeko and the intricate The Messenger.
