Bra Hugh Masekela (72) and Simphiwe Dana are undisputed children of the African soil not only through their much-celebrated music but also through their efforts in changing the mindset of Africans about themselves. DRUM closes off Heritage Month with a bang as we took time out to find out what these two African gems are up to. Bra Hugh who has mentored and befriended Simphiwe is truly a funny and relaxed man, his plans right now are his garden, a compilation that will include some international greats. Simphiwe’s admitted to having it hard being a busy single parent but she makes a plan and after breaking up with Hassel Pole she’s mending a broken heart.
