Cup chocolate cake

Have a hankering for cake but you don’t have time to bake a whole one? Here’s a quick recipe to satisfy your craving

Serves: 2

Preparation: 5 min

Cooking: 70 seconds

60 ml (¼ c) flour

30 ml (2 T) cocoa powder

2,5 ml (½ t) baking powder

45 ml (3 T) caster sugar

pinch of salt

80 ml (? c) milk

30 ml (2 T) oil

30 g dark chocolate, broken into pieces

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. Stir in the milk and oil until all ingredients are combined and the batter has no clumps.
  2. Pour batter into 2 microwave-safe mugs, leaving enough space at the top for the cake to rise without spilling over the rim.
  3. Add chocolate in the middle of the batter.
  4. Microwave mug cake for 70 seconds on high.
  5. Carefully remove from microwave and enjoy – with cream or ice cream, if you want.
