Days left for new NSFAS applications

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has called on Grade 12 learners, wishing to study at selected public universities and TVET colleges, to apply for financial assistance online before Monday 30 November.

These online applications are limited to students who are applying at Unisa, Durban University of Technology, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, University of Venda, Sol Plaatjie University, University of Mpumalanga, King Hintsa TVET College, Motheo TVET College, Umfolozi TVET College, South Cape College, and Ekurhuleni East College.

Meanwhile, NSFAS spokesperson Kagisho Mamabolo advises applicants to provide the NSFAS with supporting documents and full and accurate information to avoid rejection of applications.

Who can apply for NSFAS funding?

• Grade 12 learners from poor and working-class families who cannot afford to pay for their studies.

• Eligible students who were not previously funded by the NSFAS.

• Eligible students who were funded previously but not in 2015.
