Diarrhoea outbreak hits Durban

At least 151 people have contracted Diarrhoea and have been admitted to Durban hospitals in the past three months suffering, The Diarrhoea breakout has resulted in the deaths of two children according to a report by Sapa.

Other cases have been reported in Amaoti, Ntuzuma, Mayville and KwaMashu.

The deputy head of eThekwini metro's communicable disease service, Dr Ayo Olowolagba, said in a statement that most of those treated were children, half of whom came from Durban's Inanda area

He said the city was trying to identify the cause, while at the same time educating local populations on hygiene.
