Doing it for hlaudi

With high spirits and deep feelings of injustice against a man they feel has been wrongly accused, they’ve taken their cause to the open roads. The 20 men, aged between 26 and 39, are walking in honour of controversial SABC boss Hlaudi Motsoeneng, to celebrate his “20 years of selfless service”.

Some have never met him, only seen him on TV. They are part of a civil group called the Friends of Hlaudi, and they’re so serious about their message that they’ve walked 400 km in seven days from Bloemfontein to Johannesburg.

Read more about this controversial group in the 12 February 2015 issue of DRUM! On shelved now.
