Drum caught up with the award-winning gospel star Dumi Mkokstad who opened up about struggling to accept the late Sfiso Ncwane’s death, his love life and his new TV show.

Dumi Mkokstad reveals that he and the late gospel star Sfiso Ncwane were close and even though its been months since Sfiso passed he is still hurting.  “I was close to Sfiso I spent most of my time with him. I was so saddened to hear about his death, especially given that I had been with him the day before he died,” Dumi reveals.

“In my mind I don’t think it has fully sunk in, he was a close family friend so the pain is still there and will probably be there for a while. I spent sometime with his sons Ngcweti and Mawenza and they are also hurting but, we know God will heal our broken hearts,” he adds.

Despite the hurt Dumi says life must go on and he is currently working on a new album.

“I have my own studio and I’m producing upcoming artists, this helps me to learn more about my craft and I’m waiting on Betusile Mcinga’s album tittled Intando yakho that is coming out soon and I’m working on my live DVD album also,” said Mkokstad.

“I love listening to gospel because I’m learning Instruments, I looking at Guffy Phodile’s skills, He played for Malakia,TKzee, Kabelo Mabalane, I like listening to his stuff because he is versatile,” He adds

Dumi shared also that he is excited  about the TV show that he will be hosting with his long time friend Bethusile which will be aired on Dumisa TV, a channel on DSTV.

“Well the show will start on Saturday the 1st of April 21:00 pm and also repeats on Sunday same time. People should watch to find out more, its going to be exciting.”

And as to anyone special in his life?
