Drama. 2010. 95 min. with Zac Efron, Charlie Tahan and Amanda Crew.

Director: Burr Steers. 13PgL.

Charlie St Cloud (Efron) is about to go to university on a sailing scholarship when tragedy strikes and his younger brother Sam (Tahan) is killed in a car accident he caused. Five years later everyone has moved on except Charlie. He gave up his dream of going to university and now works as a cemetery caretaker. Every day at sundown he plays catch with Sam in the woods – a promise he made to Sam before he died.

But then his former sailing rival Tess (Crew) returns to town to prepare for a solo voyage around the world. Charlie is torn between his love for his brother and his newfound friendship with Tess.

The movie drags and the plot is predictable, but Efron shows he has graduated from the High School Musical franchise – it’s a must-see if you want to see him shirtless. But this flick doesn’t come close to Ghost or The Sixth Sense. Bonus: lots, including featurettes and a commentary.
