Political Satire. 2008. 102 min. with

John Cusack, Hilary Duff and Marisa Tomei.

director: Joshua Seftel. 16lv.

Peace is poverty and John Cusack is a hitman in the Mid-East on the trail of an enemy of US business interests. He goes undercover as the organiser of a local pop princess’ (Duff) wedding – but then this supposedly jaded, cynical killer falls in love with a reporter (Tomei) while developing a strange desire to care for the tartish pop star...

War, Inc. wraps the hot potato of war as business and international relations in a sloppy pancake of anti-war, anti-Bush, semi-slapstick sentiment.

The gonzo style won’t appeal to everyone and at times the scenes struggle to come to a conclusion, but if you have strange urges to set the Stars and Stripes alight every now and then, this may be just the ticket.
