Eskom's Zola Tsotsi resigns

Zola Tsotsi has resigned as the Chairperson and Director of South Africa's power utility- Eskom.

More drama has filtered into Eskom's camp - the Chairperson and Director, Zola Tsotsi has stepped down from his duties. The Mail and Guardian reports that this comes after a three hour board meeting on Monday night where Tsotsi tried to convince a panel made up of Eskom board members to ignore a motion of no-confidence against him. The motion comes after the former director was accused of interfering with the executive as well as signing off on documentation on behalf of Eskom which undermined the group of executives entrusted with their positions. Ben Ngubane, who used to be the SABC Board Chaiperson, has filled the position of acting director and has "thanked Mr Tsotsi for the selfless decision he took in placing the interests of the company first," as communicated by a tweet from Eskom's Media account.
