She is always bubbly and you can never tell she is bottling up the pain of not knowing her biological father. And now the award-winning artist Candy Tsa Mandebele is pleading with Mzansi to help find her father as she is desperately searching

Candy revealed this during her exclusive interview on Unscripted. “The man I called my father all this years and thought was my biological dad, is not,” she said emotionally. The Queen of Culture, as she calls herself, says a lot of things are not going well in her life, due to not knowing her identity and true origins.

“Perhaps I was supposed to be happily married by now,” says the 46-year-old singer, adding that her life was not easy and that it will all be documented in a documentary and a book to be released in the near future.

As she composes herself, Candy says if she was not a popular musician, she would be giving 800 m Olympic champion Caster Semenya a run for her money.

And one of her dreams is ‘to write a song with Beyonce”. Hopefully, the song will be in Khelobedu as Candy is a proud Molobedu and is never shy to represent her culture with her lyrics and stage outfits. Born Candy Mokwena in Ga-Sedibeng village, Ga-Modjadji in Limpopo, Candy Tsa Mandebele proudly says, “I am a Molobedu through and through”.
