I did not have any of those procedures - Sophie

In recent newspaper headlines actress and businesswoman Sophie Ndaba was said to have had a nose job, boob job and a tummy tuck. The star whose appearance has indeed changed over the years, spoke to DRUM this morning and sets the record straight.

Sophie says she never would risk her life by going under the knife.

“I did not have any of those procedures. If I wanted to do a tummy tuck, I would’ve done it after give birth to my child years ago, but I’m diabetic, and I will need to prepare by consulting a specialist,” Sophie says.

The former Generations actress says she has a serious condition of sinusitis and that is the only reason she would have surgery.

“The only operation I’ve ever had in my whole life is a caesarian section and I still have a pot belly,” she tells us. “I have a pot belly for days,” Sophie says chuckling.

The only thing that is keeping Sophie in good shape is a good diet and training.

“I do cardio and I have a personal trainer because previously, I had an eating disorder. I went from a size 32 to a size 40 and that’s when I realised I have to start eating in moderation. So I cut down on sugar, carbohydrates and dairy products,” she continues.

Sophie says she wouldn’t just make such drastic changes to her appearance “because people die” and it’s a serious decision.

“They said I spent R100 000 on that surgery, as if I have such a lot of money lying around. My body parts are 100 percent real,” the star adds.

Sophie has just finished working on a movie titled She is King, which is similar to the classic apartheid movie, Sarafina.

“It’s a heartwarming storyline and I will be acting alongside Khabonina Qubeka. I’m a mother to a theatrical daughter who stands alone. It will be released in June,” she concludes.
