Five things you might not have know about televangelist TB Joshua.

TB Joshua is an evangelist from Nigeria and 67 South Africans died in his church hostel recently. This might be the only thing most South Africans have to go on so far.  Here are five other things about the charismatic pastor.

1. He is known to thousands of people around the world as a "prophet of God" with healing hands that can cure anything from disabilities to cancer and HIV/Aids.

2. Prominent people who have gone to Joshua for help include Zimbabwean politician Morgan Tsvangirai, Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema, Malawian president Bingu wa Mutharika, and ANC stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela,

3. "Prophet" Joshua was born in the village of Arigidi, Nigeria on June 12, 1963. The church claims he was in his mother's womb for 15 months.

4.  Joshua went to St Stephen's Anglican Primary School in Arigidi, and became the leader of the student Christian fellowship.

5. He has been awarded various accolades, notably receiving the National Honour of OFR by the Nigerian government in 2008.  He is recognised as one of Africa's 50 most influential people.
