Tsholo Matshaba is making her way back to the small screen.

SABC 2 has a new drama series starting this week, called “Mamello” (resilience in English).

Mamello will see former Muvhango actress Tsholo Matshaba make her way back to television.

"Shooting Mamello was quite a teeth clucking experience. Temperatures were always below 18 degrees. Truly speaking it was a wonderful experience, as much as it was physically and emotionally challenging, it was worth it. The cast was awesome. It was always a party hanging with them," Matshaba said in a statement.

She will be playing the character of Keneilwe along Jude Tshisevhe who plays the character of Patrick, according to Zalebs. They are both teachers.

The storyline follows these two teachers who love teaching but face numerous challenges in the school ranging from a basic lack of resources, under-qualified teachers and an ever-changing curriculum.

The drama series, shot around various locations in Gauteng, premières on Wednesday, 12 August, at 21:30.
