The first episode of Generations: The Legacy aired last night and it drew mixed reactions from the viewers, who expressed their thoughts on Facebook.

Some called on the SABC to bring back Skeem Saam, as they were not pleased with it.

However, others said the soapie should be given a chance.

Joseph Dlamini wrote: “Dear SABC, I think we need to find a new time slot for Generations . . . say something like 11 am! ?#?BringBackSkeemSaam”.

Linda Latang Tlome shared the same sentiments and also wrote, “Generations is such a bore”.

Peter Mduduzi Twala compared the soapie to an advert, writing, “Ai, this Clientele Life advert is better than Generations.”

However, some viewers were willing to give the new Generations a chance to get familiar with the new storyline and actors. Asanda Filita was forgiving and wrote, “There are days to come for Generations, so please give it a chance”. Cebo Mhlongo concurred and wrote, “It’s still early, give them a chance”.

Tumelo Kganare was just as forgiving. He wrote, “Give it at least five days to grasp the storyline. The funny thing is, you’re going to keep on watching (probably even repeats) and even end up loving it.”
