The Hansa Pilsener Festival of Legends organisers have revealed a star-studded line-up of top South African artists who will grace the main stage with international act Usher.

Zakes Batwini, Tkzee, Gangs of Instrumentals, Liquideep and Teargas with Oskido, Vigilante, Capital and DJ Tira on the decks at Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Saturday, March 10, will make this a festival not to be missed.

Six urban artists who have been voted for by South Africans, will be announced on Friday, February 24, and will receive the honour of performing alongside their local icons and the OMG superstar Usher at the stadium.

Durban based music mogul Zakes Batwini is one of the founding fathers of the Durban sound that has taken the international world by storm. With hits like “Shake your Bum Bum”, “Clap your Hands” and “Wasting My Time” be prepared for an evening of doing just what the maestro ordered!

Teargas burst onto the music scene in 2004. The group composed of Ntokozo Mdluli and brothers Ezee Ma – E and Bantu Hanabe left an impression to many, winning SAMA'S for best hip hop album in 2009 and 2010

Gangs of Instrumentals are a multi Channel O nominated, SAFTA Golden Horn winning, pop/urban trio with a gritty sound and street credibility.  From 2004 the group also known as GI has maintained their edge in the music industry with their ragga meet rock inspired anthems laced with both English and African languages that speak a universal tongue.

Liquideep is an international music group specialising in house music. Singer-song-writer, producer, Ziyon (USA) and producer/DJ Ryzor make up this super talented outfit. They describe their sound as original, influenced by Africa’s beat and yet still boast global appeal.

“Hansa has gathered a line-up of local and international artists which won’t fail to deliver a legendary experience,” says Hansa Pilsener’s General Manager, Mosidi Seretlo.

“The  Festival of Legends is a once in a lifetime opportunity for up-and-coming young talent to perform on the same stage as one of the best R&B stars of their generation – Usher –  along with some of South Africa’s top talent, and Hansa is proud to make it happen.”
