Have you filled out your taxes?

The South African Revenue Service (Sars) says it will not extend the deadline to submit tax returns.

Taxpayers had until 4pm on Friday to file their returns manually and until midnight using the online e-filing system.

Eye Witness News reports that Sars spokesperson Adrian Lackay said any submissions done now will be considered as late and liable to a penalty.

“There’s a standard administrative penalty which kicks in with an amount of R250 for a late submission.”
