After 17 years at the show he created and loves, executive producer of Muvhango Duma kaNdlovu is toying with the idea of retirement - but for now he loves creating a show that he calls 'an upholder of African values'.

Watching an episode of Muvhango over the past couple of years can be likened to being at a beauty pageant of sorts. Almost all the ladies on the show are sexy and beautiful.

Of course, the parade of beauty has sparked rumours that, unless you are Venda, Muvhango actresses need to be light-skinned to be regarded as beautiful.

“If I see an actor or someone I think is good for the show I approach them irrespective of them being experienced or not because I know I will train them at our workshops,” says Duma.

So, why does he sometimes ‘poach’ actors from other soapies – particularly Generations – we ask?
