In a media conference called by SABC’s Acting Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. James Aguma, it was confirmed that former SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng will remain an employee of the SABC as Group Executive of Corporate affairs

Hlaudi’s new role come in the wake of eventful two weeks at the SABC when the Supreme Court of Appeal dismissed his application for leave to appeal a High Court ruling, which set aside his permanent appointment. The court ruling effectively meant that Hlaudi's position was found to be invalid.

At the same conference SABC chair professor Mbulaheni Maguvhe intimated that Hlaudi can apply for his former position when the position is finally advertised. As though taking a cue from Professor Maguvhe, Hlaudi told members of the press that he's going to apply for the position of COO.

Meanwhile, it looks like Hlaudi will fit right in the position of GE: Corporate Affairs as he held the same position prior his appointment as Group COO.

“As an individual I respect the court process and we should follow the proper process,” said Hlaudi who attended the press conference sporting a fashionable fedora. “I have confidence in the SABC management and the board.

“I want to applaud the people who employed me: Ben Ngubane, Ellen Tshabalala and professor Magube. I really appreciate the opportunity I was given by the SABC. 90 percent is going to stay. My future is in my hands.”
