Here are some tips on how to avoid damage to your hair or even hair loss when removing your braids.

You need to remove braids carefully and slowly to avoid damaging your own hair.

Start detangling with your fingers, beginning at the bottom and going toward the roots.

Shampoo and condition

You should continue to shampoo and condition while wearing extensions.

Your focus should be on your scalp. Gently massage your scalp and work through all of your hair. Don’t be alarmed if you see more of your shed hair.

After shampooing, a deep conditioning treatment is a good idea to drench your hair in good moisture.

Give your scalp and hairline a few weeks to breathe before getting your next set of extensions.
