I call him my gentle giant. He is so respectful - Puleng

Reality star Puleng Mash-Spies became an overnight sensation after her episode aired on Come Dine with Me: South Africa.

Her straight talking, no care attitude and some of her famous quotes on the show turned her into a reality star overnight. Who could forget the famous; "What the fudge?", "Shut the front door" or "My weave and shoes can feed children from a small village"?

Puleng is back on our screens on SABC 3 reality show Jozi Divas.

DRUM caught up with her to talk everything TV, money, business and love. One of the things she was very excited to talk about was her husband who she always gushes about.

"Frank is older than me," she said referring to their two-decade age difference.

"I call him my gentle giant. He is so respectful. Within two weeks of dating, he called my mother and told her he is going to do the right thing by me and will look after me," she explains.

Frank paid lobola for Puleng a month later. Being married to an elderly man who is also white has come with some people giving the couple nasty looks and strange comments when they are out, Puleng says she doesn't care about that.

"That's something you don't get used to. I 'm happy with my life and that's all that matters," she says.
