Jennifer Hudson honours Aretha Franklin

Belting out a few numbers in honour of Aretha Franklin Jennifer Hudson performed at the 2014 BET Music Awards.

Dressed to the nines for the occasion, Jennifer sported a cool white top and leggings.

BET honoured songstress Aretha Franklin, saying: "Aretha Franklin has been a central figure in music for over five decades. Her musicality and vocals act as the standard for the many musicians she has inspired and throughout the years fans prove they want their Aretha!"

Rapper and actor Ice Cube, Motown founder and visionary Berry Gordy, photographer Carrie Mae Weems and American Express CEO Kenneth Chenault were among those honoured at the annual event.

Mariah Carey wowed the audience by performing her new single, 'You're Mine,' for the first time in a black, cleavage-baring dress atop a piano.

BET Honours was hosted by 'How I Met Your Mother' star Wayne Brady.
