Gospel powerhouse Joyous Celebrations are set to kick off their 17th tour this coming weekend at the Big Top Arena in Carnival City. The tour has been appropriately titled "Gratitude Tour."

The performances will coincide with the launch and release of the Joyous 17 CD and DVD also titled “Grateful,” recorded live in Johannesburg

According to Joyous Celebrations publicist Helga Klizanie  the 'Gratitude tour' is fittingly titled that to give thanks for the incredible amount of success the choir has received since their inception breaking records and winning a number of awards.

They reached a record-breaking sale of 2.8 million copies sold since Joyous 1 right through to Joyous 16, a first and new record for a gospel concept in South Africa.

Last year on top of the South African Music Awards they won, they scooped three awards at the African Gospel Music Awards which were held in London.

“Our success is due to a number of reasons, amongst those are the artists who’ve been with us, the great musicians and singers and the fans who have contributed significantly to the success of the Joyous Celebration concept. To you, we are eternally GRATEFUL,” says Joyous Celebration co-founder Jabu Hlongwane .

“Our fans are everything to us. Without them, there is no Joyous Celebration. So in essence, Joyous 17 is also our token of appreciation for the support they have shown us over the years and the journey they’ve taken with us since the very first album,” he adds.
