Jub-Jub left defenseless

A Sunday newspaper quoted Ike Motloung as saying, “I cannot proceed under these circumstances, without payment. I warned my client that if it persists I will withdraw.”

When DRUM contacted Jub-Jub he hung up on us, after countless efforts of trying to get a hold of him. We managed to get a comment from his manager, Jeff Maranela.

Maranela clarified that Jub-Jub has not been dumped by his lawyer. “The lawyer didn’t dump him as the papers reported. He just wants the outstanding amount and then he will continue with the case,” he said.

On how much was owed to Ike, he could not tell but rather pointed us to Jub-Jub for an answer.

Despite Jub-Jub’s financial woes being unable to settle his debt with his lawyer, Maranela denied suggestions that Jub-Jub is broke.

Motloung doesn’t seem to have hope of being paid anytime soon, he was quoted saying “You know how it goes with these cases. If payment hasn’t happened then it probably won’t."

The case, which is before the Protea Magistrates Court in Soweto, has been postponed until the 10th of October.
