The SA Post Office's (Sapo) board has resigned.

The SA Post Office's (Sapo) board has resigned, Eyewitness News reported on Friday.

The announcement was made by Telecommunications and Postal Services Minister Siyabonga Cwele during a media briefing at the Sapo headquarters in Centurion, Pretoria.

Post Office workers have been on strike for four months, calling for casual worked to be permanently employed.

EWN reported that Cwele said the Sapo's problems had been there for a long time and were not started by the board. Cwele's department would work on stabilising the state entity, EWN reported.

He called for Sapo to enforce the no work, no pay principle, which he claimed had not been enforced across the board.
