Kgomotso Manyaka: a movie star at 12!

IT’S like a miracle. One day you’re just a normal 12-yearold girl living in a tiny rural Limpopo town and the next you’re a star, having won a major role in a feature film.

Then, two years later you’re walking onto a stage to accept an award for the best actress in South Africa.

That’s exactly what has happened to little Khomotso Manyaka from Dennilton, who recently became the youngest female ever to receive the award for Best Feature Film Actress at the South African Film and Television Awards (Safta). And it’s all because of her starring role in Life Above All, which tells the story of a girl whose parents both suffer from HIV/Aids.
