Rapper Kwesta is inviting interested aspiring fashion designers to come forward in collaboration with his new venture, a clothing range.

DaKingofAfricanRap recently launched a clothing label, RapyLyf Apparel, merging it with an international brand, Brand Agency. The Ngud’ hitmaker’s manager Siyabonga Mbuyisa confirmed to TheJuiceSA that the platform is for “young creatives to take charge of their craft and use that in collaboration with the brand Kwesta.”

Mbuyisa further added that the range might say something along the lines of ‘RapLyf Summer” coupled with the designer’s name.

The first range is currently unknown as the new designers who come on board will have their name included on the clothes’ label. He further said, “Due to the numerous requests from designers received by Kwesta, where the designer would request to do a T-Shirt or jacket for Kwesta, it was decided that, having an entire range would be more beneficial than just one or two T-Shirts.”

Mbuyisa also confirmed that there will be a designated channel which will publicly inform all interested parties to submit their portfolios and this will soon be followed by shortlists and interviews.

“Based on the vision of both RapLyf and the designer for a particular range for a season, the decision on which designer will work on that range will be made thereafter,” he told TheJuiceSA.
