KwaZulu-Natal Premier Senzo Mchunu and Orlando Pirates Chairman Irvin Khoza to visit Senzo Meyiwa's family.

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Senzo Mchunu and Orlando Pirates Chairman Irvin Khoza will visit to the family of Senzo Meyiwa, the captain of both Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates, at K Section in Umlazi, later this afternoon.

“Hours after we received the news of the passing away of Senzo, we are still in deep shock. The pain is immeasurable across the province and Umlazi Township where Senzo spent his childhood,” said Mchunu.

“Crime has inflicted an irreparable damage to the entire nation. No amount of words can express our heartfelt condolences to the family, soccer fans and the entire Orlando Pirates family.” “We bow our heads in honour of this young and committed son of this province. Senzo represented a new generation of soccer players that carried the aspirations and hopes of many of our people especially our youth,” said Mchunu. Meanwhile Meyiwa's mother has been rushed to hospital because of high blood pressure and his family is not ready to issue statement just yet. Mourners are seen arriving here at Meyiwa's house in uMlazi
