A lot was revealed about Lesego Motsepe at her memorial service held at the SABC in Auckland Park, Johannesburg.

Her doctor cleared up a lot that was misunderstood about the actress. Dr Marlin McKay said  Lesego was taking her ARV treatment. She had resumed the treatment in 2012, he said.

Lesego had publicly denounced the use of antiretrovirals  saying there was “a need for a holistic approach to tackling the pandemic as opposed to a hopeless approach with drugs being seen as a do or die solution”.

However McKay said that after that declaration he made contact with the actress and convinced her to resume her treatment.

“After many discussions she made the decision to restart treatment. 2012 was a good year for her,” he said.

Lesego’s uncle Abe Ntlatleng  also revealed that the actress died alone.

He said, Lesego’s brother found her body at her Randburg flat on Monday, this was after they had tred to  get hold of Lesego since last week Thursday.

“Lesego was always out on adventures, so when she wasn’t picking up from Thursday we assumed she was on one of her adventures,” he said.

After noticing she wasn’t picking up her phone, her brother finally decided tocheck up on her and that is when he made the discovery.

Abe said an autopsy was being carried out to determine the exact time and day of her death.

Lesego’s funeral service will be held on Saturday 25 January at the Bryanston Methodist Church. The service will be from 10:00 to 13:00. Lesego’s uncle said it was Lesego’s wish to be cremated and the cremation ceremony would only be open to close friends and family.
