In this frank interview Zindzi Mandela opens up about her daughter brave fight against cancer, on first meeting her father when she was a young girl

At first Zindzi Mandela (52) appears to be aloof, even cold, but it soon becomes apparent the cause of her perceived mood is various matters that weigh heavily on her mind.

Winnie Madikizela-Mandela is not only deeply troubled by the recent media glare focused on her ailing father but is also trying to be a strong mother to her daughter Zoleka (33), who’s just had a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

In typically forthright manner Zindzi starts off our interview by declaring that she’s “neither a politician nor a celebrity”.
