The soulful duo went their separate ways to pursue solo careers but now Mafikizolo’s Nhlanhla Nciza and Theo Kgosinkwe are back with a bang

It’s usually very difficult for band members who have gone their separate ways to make a strong comeback, especially if the members have built up successful solo careers. But that can’t be said of this particular group.

After a five-year break and a couple of award-winning solo albums, one of Mzansi’s most sensational bands, Mafikizolo, has reunited – much to the joy of their fans.

Their latest hit single, Khona, featuring African dance music band Uhuru, is making waves around the country with a new and exciting sound that will hopefully shake up the music industry. No one who’s heard this track can be left with any doubt that Mafikizolo is back – and better than ever. The full album, titled Reunited, hits shelves this week.

But it’s not only the West African influence in their sound that’s new – their image has had a revamp too. They’ve added new elements such as African accessories and bright colours and patterns to complement their new look, feel and sound. We meet the talented duo that makes up Mafikizolo – Nhlanhla Nciza (35) and Theo Kgosinkwe (39)
