Mafikizolo to 'mentor' youth through tour

Mafikizolo is one of Africa's most celebrated group, and now for the first time in over 10 years they are embarking on a six city tour. The tour which kicks off on the 14th of March Tshwane will also go to Polokwane, Nelson Mandela Bay, Johannesburg, Bloemfontein and Cape Town.

"We are excited to be doing this tour finally in our own country. We have toured around Africa and other countries in the world. It was always our dream to do it at home," the group's female lead Nhlanhla Nciza said.

"With this tour we will be taking time out to also sit town in the cities and speak to the youth on issues that they are facing. We will be the brothers and sisters that will connect with them and advice where we can," explained Theo Kgosingwe, Mafikizolo's male lead.

The Reunited Tour also partnered with the Nelson Mandela Fund. That means some of the proceeeds from the tour will go to the fund. "We are honored to be contributing to Tata's legacy. We believe in everything he stands for," Nhlanhla said.

The concert will see Mafikizolo perform with a 16 piece band, 20 dancers as well as other African artists namely Davido (Nigeria), Diamond (Kenya) and Mr May D (Nigeria).

Mafikizolo says this tour is their way of giving back and they will address issues to do with Nyaope as well. "We want to help the youth wherever we can," they said.
