Menzi Ngubane is on the mend

Nearly two years ago Menzi Ngubane was told he needed a kidney transplant. He changed his lifestyle and today he’s ‘doing very well’

SEEMS Generations character Ngamla is on a winning streak. After being laid low by illness for a while the tough businessman is up and about again and striking deals all over the place. This is not unlike Menzi Ngubane, the man who plays Ngamla in the long-running soapie.

Twenty months ago Menzi was told he had a kidney problem and is on the waiting list for a transplant, but in the meantime he’s quit drinking and smoking and changed his diet – and seems happier than ever.

“I’m indebted to my wife,” he says of his seven-week stay in hospital and his subsequent recuperation period.

“The good things happening to me now are because of her. When I got sick last year she became my rock. She’s really been there for me,” he says.
