According to the family spokesperson, Siyabonga Miya, the decision was taken last night to investigate allegations doing the rounds on social networks.

Siyabonga says this will help the police to leave no stone unturned when dealing with the case.

“This is a family decision to avoid any more speculations. The private investigators will work with the police.”

However, Siyabonga denied that this decision was taken because they have little faith in the SAPS. “That’s not the case. The family took this decision because we believe we should work together with the police to make arrests. We hope this will speed up the process to capture the perpetrators,” says Siyabonga.

He refused to reveal who will be paying for the private investigators, but agreed that the fees are very high. Former KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Colonel Vincent Mdunge, was seen at Senzo’s home with three unknown men.

When asked if Mdunge was tasked to investigate Senzo’s killing, Siyabonga refused to share further details regarding the matter.

Shaheen Suleiman of Magma Investigations, promised to make a breakthrough on the murder case. He said they will be working with the cops to make a progress on this case.

"We were approached by the family and today afternoon we will be going to Johannesburg."

Shaheen said their first step will be to go to the crime scene and everything else will follow. When asked if the family doesn't believe this was a robbery, Shaheen said they believe the investigation will reveal everything.
