Morning kick-start

Add a twist to your morning with this spiced-up porridge.

Serves: 4

Cooking: 15 min

250 ml (1 c) jumbo porridge oats

pinch of cinnamon, extra for sprinkling

2,5 ml (½ t) nutmeg

1 cinnamon stick

1 star anise

2 all-spice berries

750 ml (3 c) milk

1 pear

1 lemon wedge

1. Place the oats, spices and milk in a saucepan over medium heat for 15 minutes or until soft, stirring constantly until creamy. Remove the cinnamon stick, star anise and all-spice berries.

2. Pour the oats into bowls, coarsely grate the pear over with a squeeze of lemon juice. Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve warm.
