What’s it about?

In the ’80s, a famous Russian conductor loses his job after he employs Jewish musicians in his orchestra. Decades later he’s working as a cleaner at a well-known opera house when he hears Paris’ famous Châtelet Teatre has invited the Bolshoi company to France. He grabs the opportunity to put his old orchestra back together to go in the place of the Bolshoi orchestra.

Who will enjoy it?

I know what you’re thinking – a Russian movie with subtitles! How could it possibly be entertaining and interesting? But if you love good music and films, this is the real deal. The story will have you hooked within the first five minutes and the humour, beautiful music, wit and colourful characters will mesmerise you. This original tale of an impossible dream that came true is food for the soul.

Wait for DVD?

No! You have to be part of an audience to be carried away by brilliant music performed by top musicians. Besides, there’s so much candyfloss entertainment on at the moment you should grab this chance to experience a truly excellent film.
