Murderers on the loose

The victim was a national hero, his murder a shocking crime. But months have passed and Senzo Meyiwa’s ?killers are still on the loose. Will the police ever find them?

More than three months after the sensational slaying of Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa, the police investigation into his murder seems to have stalled and ground to a halt.

Where is the investigation heading? What progress, if any, has been made?

We look at the dynamics that affect the case and the central figures who were witness to the brutal shooting on the night of Sunday 26 October last year.

Major-General Norman Taioe, head of the Gauteng detective unit, has been leading the multi-disciplinary task team which National Police Commissioner, Riah Phiyega, appointed to investigate Senzo’s murder. Now, however, he has been redeployed to Cluster Commander in Sebokeng near Vanderbiljpak.
