James was serious about marrying Mapule – until she decided to play hard to get

THIS trio of talented actors has Muvhango fans on the edge of their seats with a love triangle no one saw coming. Just when we all thought James was on the straight and narrow and set to marry his old love Mapule, he’s thrown his life into turmoil!

Sleeping with his fiancée Mapule’s best friend, the moody Meiki, and impregnating her on the eve of his wedding shows James up in the worst light.  “He simply wasn’t thinking,” says Dingaan Mokebe, who plays the stressed James.

“An opportunity presented itself and his attitude was, ‘Let’s get it on’. But he’s going to pay dearly for this spur-of-the-moment decision.”

As so often happens in life, the love triangle proves we’re often our own worst enemy. Happiness was within James’ reach and his marriage to Mukwevho Milling’s high-flying marketing executive, the sexy Mapule Modise, would have seen him happily settled. But now he’s blown it.

We meet the Muvhango trio of Dingaan, Nthabiseng Mphahlele, who plays Meiki, and Gontse Ntshegang, who plays Mapule, at the Hyde Park Southern Sun hotel in Hyde Park, north of Jozi.

Dingaan believes the storyline is full of life lessons and offers his perspective: “James was serious about marrying Mapule,” he says. “That’s until Mapule started doing what many women do – she decided to play hard to get.
