NOT so long ago he was producing beats in his bedroom for DJ Tira – now he has three top-selling albums to his name and is one of the most sought-after producers in Mzansi. Kholile Gumede (24) – better known to his fans as the relentless DJ Clock – has the local dance crowd in a frenzy, thanks to his floor-fillers D’nB Beat and Ngomso. The funky, funny music man opens up about his name, music, family and finding the one he loves...

Yes, my current album, The Third Tick (meaning my third album), has been doing very well. Last I checked it had sold over 19 000 copies [A gold record is 20 000]. It features great artists such as [ex-Yfm DJ] Mpho Maboi, DJ Cleo and Professor so it was bound to do well.
