The buzz around Generations and its new cast has certainly been doing the rounds and, while we have some old favourites returning to the soapie, there are some interesting new additions to be on the lookout for as well.

While we're on the topic of old favorites, it's with great excitement that we welcome Tau Mogale back to the show. We wonder who he'll be butting heads with now that Sobusiso Dlomo (Menzi Ngubane) is gone.

Letoya Makhene

The singer and actress who made waves on SABC 3 drama series, Isidingo, will be on Generations part 2 as Tshidi.

Manaka Ranaka

No stranger to the SABC and hard-hitting roles, it's exciting to see Manaka making her way to the soapie. She will be playing the role of Lucy.

Ivy Nkutha

She's been uGog' Tsotsi in many a small film and has experience on the small screen as well. We aren't sure what her character will bring to Generations but, if her previous experience is anything to go by, there will be plenty drama and entertainment! \

Ronnie Nyakale

The legendary "gangster" actor returns to our screens as the well-loved tsotsi, Cosmo.

Kopano Denise Zimba

This rising star will return to her character of the troubled Mary. We're looking forward to the drama she's sure to stir up in part 2.

Asanda Foji

Asanda joins the soapie as a model and actress, Simphiwe. Not much else is known about the actress, which is among the most exciting things about the second take on Generations - the unearthing of new talent.

Moopi Mothibeli

The young actor will be joining Generations as Smanga. He previously had roles in student productions so this is likely to be Moopi's big break into the industry.

Vuyo Dabula

Having earned his stripes in major productions such as Yizo Yizo, Isidingo and international film Invictus, he will be joining Generations as Gadaffi.

Thulisile Phongolo

This beauty will play the role of Namhla, having last been seen on our screens on hit-series Tshisa in 2012.

Musa Ngema

Having had cameo roles on 7de Laan and Rhythm City, the handsome actor will also be scoring his big break as Mazwi on the soap.

There have also been whispers about former YO-TV presenter, JT Medupi and actress Lebogang Mthunzi taking on the roles of the beloved siblings, Jonathan and Angela respectively. It looks like a good balance of strong, established favourites and a significant crop of new faces.

We look forward to seeing what the show has in store!
