Oscar Pistorius’ prosecutor Gerrie Nel resigns

State prosecutor who put Oscar Pistorius in jail has resigned.

State prosecutor, Gerrie Nel, who will most notably be remembered for putting former Paralympian Oscar Pistorius in jail, has resigned.

Nel is also behind the Scorpion’s  Operation Bad Guy, an investigation which led to the prosecution of former police chief  Jackie Selebi and which examined the murder of mining magnate Brett Kebble.

The National Prosecution Authority is yet to confirm his resignation. However, according to news reports, Nel has handed his resignation.

Nel has resigned after 35 years of service.
