A pastor's wife was slapped with a fine after repeatedly being busted, making what cops said was "unnecessary noise" around North Dakota’s city sidewalks.

Police said Martha Nagbe would linger for several hours at a time outside people's homes and scream out passages from the Bible.

But the Liberian-born pastor's wife – who was slapped with the R1 800 fine – doesn't understand what the problem is and says she has a right to pray.

"I mean we all need prayers and great she's out there praying for all of us – but it's just the volume of her voice," Police Chief Jeanette Parsons told Valley News Live.

Martha, who moved to America from Liberia, has vowed to continue trying to spread the word of the Lord.
