Phumzile Sitole – The Good Fight

South African actress, Phumzile Sitole, is also making a name for herself in New York having acted in a short film called Lost Found as a supporting lead actress alongside Olivia Washington- Denzel Washington’s daughter


She is currently filming a television series called The Good Fight, a spin- off of the popular show, The Good Wife.

In the series she is acting alongside some of hollywood’s great actors: Christine Baranski who is considered to be a veteran of the show, Rose Leslie from Game of Thrones as well as Delroy Lindo a veteran African American actor best known for acting in Malcom X, Gone in 60 seconds and Marcus Garvey Biopic

Before leaving South Africa in 2013, she had acted alongside Akin Omotoso who played the role of her father  in a short film called Rights of Passage which was shown at the Durban International Film Festival.

“Living in New York have been extremely challenging and rewarding,” she says.

“It’s hard being away from home and my family and not being able to share your successes with the people you love the most,” she says.

“I would love to come back and act in a film or TV in South Africa because our stories are my stories and they resonate more with me.  Although I love working in New York the perfect career would be a bicoastal one.”
