Pirates’ Happy Jele

IT'S a do-or-die game: a spicy clash between Orlando Pirates and Platinum Stars, which the Buccaneers will have to win to reclaim top spot in the absa Premiership and so keep their title aspirations alive.

The score is deadlocked at one-all at half-time. But just moments after the referee blows for the second half, lanky tough-as-nails defender Happy Jele receives the ball in the centre of the field, drives forward and unleashes a stunning shot that finds the top left corner of Stars' net. Pirates win and reclaim the PSL's helm, their title aspirations alive once again...Less than a week later the Buccaneers are up against Free State Stars in a tense Nedbank Cup quarterfinal tie at Orlando Stadium. The first half comes and goes with no goals in sight. But in the 54th minute Pirates' midfielder Dikgang "Terminator" Mabalane sweeps in a cross on the near post and Happy is once again in the middle of things.
