Dagga worth about R200,000 on the street has been seized at a roadblock in Heidelberg, Gauteng police said on Monday.

Lt-Col Lungelo Dlamini said police stopped the vehicle at a weigh bridge on Sunday evening.

Four people were arrested and would appear in the Heidelberg Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Dlamini said the roadblock was part of stepped up anti-crime efforts which would continue up to the festive season.

These would include stop and searches, roadblocks, raids and the pursuit of wanted criminals.
