Tshwane CBD was a chaos and businesses were forced to close

, this comes after pupils from Mamelodi and Soweto claimed that they were forcefully removed from school by members of the Congress of South African Students (Cosas), reports ANN7. The pupils from different schools marched to the Department of Basic Education, Struben Street to submit a memorandum of grievances. Cosas spokesperson Khulekani Skhosana, told ANN7 that they wanted to draw attention to the day-to-day challenges facing the pupils.

These included school sanitation, infrastructure, security, eradication of container classes, scholar transportation issues and shortage of teachers. “Most of the issues have been raised before to find long term solutions and rescue masses of pupils from the day-to-day terror they always go to schools to encounter,” Skhosana told ANN7.
