RIP Prosper: The tale of the two Tinas

His life had highs and the lowest of lows. Prosper Mkwaiwa’s sudden death has left his friends and family stunned.

DRUM arrives at the middle-class house in Bronkhorstspruit, Mpumalanga, home of the late Prosper Mkwaiwa. It is surrounded by a large, white wall and a fleet of cars is parked nearby.

We are greeted by a sombre looking Tina Jaxa, who has a black “doek” draped around her head – the symbol of a widow in mourning.

The first words she utters are: “I’m Prosper’s legal wife, so I’m taking care of things here.”
