During his long break from radio, Rudeboy Paul has reinvented himself

He may have been out of the limelight for five years, but he’s lost none of his impressive presence. Instantly recognisable, he’s as handsome as he was when he broke into the entertainment industry on YFM 16 years ago.

Using this role and his position as editor of the influential Y! Magazine he worked hard to engage and empower Mzansi’s youth and promote literacy.

Today we’re meeting with the eloquent Paul Mnisi (36), fondly known as Rudeboy Paul, to find out where he’s been and all about his new gig as weekend breakfast show presenter on Power FM.

He’s hardly new to showbiz and has also been a presenter on TV in the past, hosting various shows such as Channel O, SABC2’s Lilizela Mlilizeli, Kids Are All Right and Kwela Express.

Paul’s brave decision to walk away from the spotlight upset many fans who have been wondering what he’s been up to since. “I realised that I needed to focus on other things in my life,” explains Paul. “Even though I was doing well in my radio career I didn’t want to get too comfortable with that role.

“I’ve been running his own production company Rudeboy Productions since 2001. It provides many services within the entertainment industry such as event management, music production and voice-overs,” he says.
