SA one of the big spenders on armed forces in Africa

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), African countries spent around $39.2 billion on its armed forces in 2012.

South Africa is one of the top three big spenders.

Here are the ten countries with the biggest military budgets as reported by

Namibia               $407 million

Tunisa                   $709 million

Kenya                   $798 million

South Sudan      $964 million

Nigeria                  $2.3 billion

Lybia                     $2.9 billion

Morocco              $3.4 billion

Angola                  $4.1 billion

South Africa       $4.4 billion

Algeria                 $9.3 billion
